→ बहुत समय पहले की बात हैं उत्तर भारत के एक छोटे से गाँव नवरंगपुर में एक अजीब दहशत फैली हुयी थीं । गाँव के लोग अमावस्या की रात जैसे ही पास आती । अपने बेटों को घरों में अंदर बंद कर लेते थें । कोई भी जवान लड़का उस रात घर से बाहर नहीं निकलता था ।
क्योंकि गाँव के लोग कहते थें । ―.” उस रात भयानक चुड़ैल गाँव में आती हैं – जो गाँव के एक जवान लड़के से शादी करके उसे मार देती हैं "
⇒ लोग उस चुड़ैल को ” श्रापित राधा के नाम से जानते थें, जिसे कई साल पहले श्राप मिला थें “
खूबसूरत पर श्रापित राधा
।
→ राधा गाँव की सबसे सुंदर लड़की थीं। गोरा रंग लंबे बाल नीली आँखे – जैसे कोई सुंदर परी धरती पर उतर आयी हों । पर उसकी सुंदरता ही उसकी सबसे बड़ी सजा बन गयी । कहते है – कई साल पहले गाँव में एक तांत्रिक आया था । उसने राधा से विवाह का प्रस्ताव । रखा । लेकिन राधा नें उससे विवाह करने से साफ मना कर दिया । और साथ में उस तांत्रिक से कहा कि, आपको शर्म नही आती, आपकी बेटी की उम्र की हूँ ” फिर भी मुझसे विवाह का प्रस्ताव रखते हैं ।
→ तभी अपमानित तांत्रिक को बहुत ही क्रोध आ गया । उसने गुस्से में राधा को श्राप दे दिया ।

'मैं
→ हे अभिमानी कन्या – तेरा रूप ही तेरी सजा बनेगी। हर अमावस्या की रात को तू एक भयानक चुड़ैल बनेगी । और उस रात तू जिससे भी विवाह करेगी, वह लड़का उस रात मारा जाएगा। पूरा गाँव तुझसे डरेगा, तुझसे घृणा करेगा ।
→ उस रात से राधा का जीवन बदल गया । वह बहुत अच्छी व खूबसूरत लड़की थीं, ” पर जैसे ही अमावस्या आती उसकी आँखें लाल हो जाती बाल बिखर जाते” और वह एक खतरनाक चुड़ैल बन जाती थीं ।
गाँव में चुड़ैल का दहशत
→
> गाँव वाले डर के साये में जी रहें थें । हर अमावस्या की रात को कोई न कोई गाँव का जवान लड़का गायब हो जाता, कभी किसी का शव कुएं में मिलता, तो कभी पेड़ से लटका । धीरे - धीरे पूरे गाँव में चुड़ैल का खौफ फैल गया । कि सभी गाँव के लड़कों की मौत के पीछे राधा चुड़ैल का ही हाथ हैं ।
→ गाँव कए लोगों नें गुस्से में आकार राधा को गाँव से बाहर निकाल दिया । राधा मजबूर थीं वह क्या करती, तभी वह अकेली ही गाँव के पास एक भयानक और घने जंगल में एक टूटी-फूटी झोपड़ी में जाकर रहने लगी। पर मन ही मन वह किसी ऐसे इंसान की प्रतीक्षा करने लगी । जो उसे उस भयानक चुड़ैल कए श्राप से मुक्त कर सकें ।


गरीब किसान का बेटा - रवि

> उसी गाँव में एक गरीब किसान गोकुल का होनहार और मेहनती बेटा था रवि । रवि नेकदिल, मेहनती और भगवान शिव का भक्त था । वह रोज मंदिर जाता, गरीबों की मदद करता और सबके चेहरे पर एक अच्छी मुस्कान लाता था । दान - धर्म करके रवि को बहुत ही सुकून मिलता था ।
→ एक दिन खेत के पास उसकी नजर राधा पर पड़ी। राधा वहाँ नदी के किनारे बैठी रो रही थीं उसके आँसू देखकर रवि रुक गया । फिर रवि नें धीरे से पूछा – तुम कौन हों ? और यहाँ बैठकर क्यों रो रही हों ?

→ राधा ने सिर झुका लिया । और आँखों में आँसू लिए कहा - 'मैं वह हूँ जिससे पूरा गाँव डरता हैं, मैं एक श्रापित लड़की हूँ उसनें रवि को यह बताया व खूब रोने लगी ।

तभी रवि नें मुस्कुरातें हुए कहा - .” डर तो सिर्फ गलत काम करनें वालों को लगना चाहिए। सच्चे दिल वालों को नहीं । देखना राधा जी एक दिन आप बिल्कुल ठीक हो जाएंगी। यह मेरा वादा हैं आपसे । आप तो दिल की बहुत ही अच्छी हों । तो भोलेनाथ आपको जरूर ठीक कर देंगें ।
श्राप का रहस्य
→ राधा नें रवि को सबकुछ बता दिया - तांत्रिक का श्राप, अमावस्या, चुड़ैल, मौत और उसका दर्द । राधा बोली - हर अमावस्या की रात को मैं एक भयानक चुड़ैल में बदल जाती हूँ । मैं इतनी भयानक हो जाती हूँ, कि मुझे खुद पर काबू नहीं रहता । जो मुझसे विवाह करता हैं । वह मर जाता हैं ।
→ रवि नें उसकी आँखों में देखा ! और कहा – राधा तुम जितनी सुंदर हो उतनी ही अच्छी हो । और रही बात श्राप की उसमे तुम्हारी कोई भी गलती नहीं । वह पाखंडी तांत्रिक तुम्हें पाना चाहता था, तुमने मना किया तो उसने तुमपर तंत्र विद्या से तुम्हें चुड़ैल बनने का श्राप दे दिया । सच मए राधा तुम्हारी कुछ भी गलती नहीं । मैं तुम्हारे साथ हूँ । इसका तोड़ मैं निकालूँगा ।


रवि को हुआ राधा से प्यार

→ अब रवि राधा से रोज नदी के किनारे मिलने आया करता था । राधा भी रवि से मिलें बिना वहाँ से नहीं जाती थीं । दोनों को एक दूसरे से प्यार हो चुका था । रवि राधा को रोज कभी खेतों में तो कभी गाँव से दूर लगे मेले में घुमाने लगा । राधा रवि को पाकर बहुत खुश रहने लगी । मगर जैसे ही अमावस्या की रात आती तो वह रवि से दूर चली जाती थीं। ताकि रवि की मृत्यु ना हो जाए। क्योंकि राधा रवि से बहुत प्यार करने लगी थीं । वह उसे खोना नहीं चाहती थीं ।
→ रवि भी राधा से बेइंतेहा प्यार करता था । वह भी राधा के इस श्राप को खत्म करके उससे शादी करना चाहता था । गाँव वाले रवि को रोज बोलते और समझाते थें कि राधा को छोड़ दे वरना मारा जाएगा। मगर रवि ने हिम्मत बनाए रखी और राधा से दूर न हुआ । राधा को रवि हमेशा अपने सिने से लगाकर रखता था । ताकि राधा की कहीं हिम्मत ना टूट जाए ।
रवि की मेहनत और बाबा का उपाय
→ रवि उस श्राप से मुक्ति का रास्ता ढूँढने जंगल के बाबा शम्भूनाथ के पास गया । बाबा नें ध्यान लगाया और बोले – ” श्राप तो शक्तिशाली हैं पर सच्चे प्रेम और शिवभक्ति कए आगे कोई श्राप नहीं टिकता ” अबकी बार अमावस्या की रात जब राधा चुड़ैल बने, तब तुम महामृत्युंजय मंत्र का जाप करते हुए उसके माथे पर गंगाजल चढ़ा देना ।

→ पर ध्यान रहें – डरना मत वरना सब नष्ट हो जाएगा । और गलती हुयी तो तुम्हारी मृत्यु भी हो सकतीं । रवि बोला बाबा राधा की इस श्राप से मुक्ति के लिए मैं अपने प्राण भी दे दूँगा बस राधा ठीक हो जाए । बाबा बोले – चिंता मत करो बेटा मैं तुम्हारे साथ हूँ । जब तक राधा ठीक नही होगी, तब तक मैं भी साधना करूंगा ।
⇒ रवि मैं बाबा की यह बात सुनकर बहुत हिम्मत आई । फिर रवि नें प्रण लिया कि वह राधा को बचाकर ही रहेगा ।



खतरनाक अमावस्या की रात

→ गाँव में चारों ओर सन्नाटा था सब अपने घरों में बंद थें । आसमान में बादल घिर आए थें । हवा सिसकियों जैसी आवाज कर रही थीं। रवि अकेला मंदिर से गंगाजल लेकर राधा की झोपड़ी की ओर चला ।

→ तो जैसे ही रवि नें झोपड़ी कए अंदर कदम रखा, वैसे ही एक भयंकर चीख सुनाई दी – ” रवि .... भाग जा अब बहुत देर हो चुकी हैं ! क्योंकि राधा अब चुड़ैल बन चुकी थीं ” उसकी आँखें खून की तरह लाल, बाल बिखरे, और आवाज में दर्द भरा गुस्सा था ।
→ रवि बहुत डर गया, मगर डरते हुए भी वह भागा नहीं । ” उसनें काँपते हुए भी मंत्र को जपना शुरू किया । ” ॐ त्र्यंबक यजामहे सुगन्धि पुष्टिवर्धनमं” यह मंत्र रवि बिना रुके शिव जि का ध्यान करतें हुए बार- बार बोलने लगा ।
→ मंत्र सुनकर राधा के अंदर चुड़ैल को बहुत दिक्कत होने लगी । राधा की चुड़ैल बोली – रुक जा रवि ! तू मारा जाएगा, यह मंत्र बोलना बंद कर अभी के अभी । मगर रवि नही रुका तभी उसने मंत्र बोलते हुए राधा के माथे के ऊपर बहुत सारा गंगाजल गेर दिया ।

तभी अचानक पूरा आकाश चमक उठा । तेजी से बिजली गिरी, हवा थम गई, और एक उजाला राधा की ओर फैल गया ।

राधा को मिली श्राप से मुक्ति

→ सब कुछ थम सा गया ! राधा की आँखों से बहुत तेज आँसू बहने लगे । उसका चेहरा शांत हो गया वह बोली – रवि तेरा प्रेम सच्चा था । तूने मुझे इस नरक से मुक्त करा ही दिया । यह कहकर राधा रवि की बाँहों में आकर बेहोश हो गई ।
→ जब तक राधा को होश नहीं आया, तब तक रवि राधा को अपनी गोद में लिटाकर शिव जी को याद करने लगा । कुछ देर बाद राधा नें अपनी आँखें खोली, तो वह पहले जैसी सुंदर और मासूम राधा बन चुकी थीं ।
→ अब राधा में कोई भय नही था । उसका श्राप खत्म हो चुका था । तभी राधा नें कहा, रवि तुम जैसा पति मुझे हर जन्म में चाहिए। तुमने बिना खुदकी प्रवाह किये ही मेरा कितना साथ दिया । जबकि सभी गाँव वाले और मेरे परिवार तक में डर के मारे मुझे गाँव से ही निकाल दिया
था।
मैं तुमसे बेहद प्यार करती हूँ रवि ! मुझे कभी मत छोड़ना । यह सुनते ही रवि ने राधा को अपनी बाँहों में भरते हुए कहा, कि राधा मैं तुम्हें हर जन्म कए लिए अपनाना चाहता हूँ ।



राधा और रवि की प्रेम की शुरुआत

→ अगले दिन गाँव वालों ने चमत्कार देखा । राधा अब सामान्य थीं । चुड़ैल का नाम मिट चुका था । गाँव कए शिव मंदिर में सबकी मौजूदगी

में रवि और राधा का विवाह हुआ । बाबा शम्भूनाथ नें भी उनको आशीर्वाद दिया । और कहा – जहाँ प्रेम सच्चा हों वहाँ भय और श्राप टिक ही नहीं सकता ।

→ Long ago, a strange fear spread through Nawarangpur, a small village in northern India. As the new moon night approached, villagers would lock their sons inside their homes. No young boy would venture out that night.
Because the villagers used to say, "That night a terrible witch comes to the village – she marries a young boy and then kills him."
⇒ People knew that witch as “Cursed Radha, who was cursed many years ago.”
Beautiful but cursed Radha

Radha was the most beautiful girl in the village. Fair complexion, long hair, and blue eyes—like a beautiful angel descended to earth. But her beauty became her greatest punishment. It is said that many years ago, a witch doctor came to the village and proposed marriage to Radha. But Radha flatly refused to marry him. She also told the witch doctor, "Aren't you ashamed? I'm your daughter's age, yet you're proposing marriage to me."
The insulted tantric became furious and cursed Radha.

→ O proud girl, your very appearance will be your punishment. Every new moon night, you will become a hideous witch. And whoever you marry that night will be killed. The entire village will fear and hate you.
Radha's life changed that night. She had been a sweet and beautiful girl, "but as soon as the new moon came, her eyes would turn red, her hair would become disheveled," and she would become a dangerous witch.
Witch terror in the village

> The villagers lived in fear. Every new moon night, a young boy would disappear. Sometimes a body would be found in a well, sometimes hanging from a tree. Gradually, the fear of a witch spread throughout the village. The belief that Radha, the witch, was responsible for the deaths of all the village boys.
→ The villagers, enraged, drove Radha out of the village. Radha was helpless, so she took up residence alone in a dilapidated hut in a dense, dangerous forest near the village. But deep inside, she yearned for someone who could free her from the curse of that terrible witch.


Poor farmer's son - Ravi

> In the same village, Ravi was the bright and hardworking son of a poor farmer named Gokul. Ravi was kind-hearted, hardworking, and a devotee of Lord Shiva. He visited the temple daily, helped the poor, and brought a smile to everyone's faces. Giving charity brought Ravi immense satisfaction.
One day, near the fields, he saw Radha. Radha was sitting on the riverbank, crying. Seeing her tears, Ravi stopped. Then Ravi asked softly, “Who are you? And why are you sitting here and crying?”

Radha bowed her head and said with tears in her eyes, "I am the one the whole village fears. I am a cursed girl." She told Ravi this and began to cry.

Then Ravi smiled and said, "Only those who do wrong should be afraid. Not those with a pure heart. Radha, you will be completely fine one day. This is my promise to you. You must be very kind at heart. Then Bholenath will definitely cure you."
The mystery of the curse
Radha told Ravi everything—the witch's curse, the new moon, the witch, death, and her pain. Radha said, "Every new moon night, I transform into a terrifying witch. I become so terrifying that I lose control. Anyone who marries me dies."
Ravi looked into her eyes and said, "Radha, you are as beautiful as you are good. And as for the curse, it's not your fault. That hypocritical witch doctor wanted to have you, and when you refused, he cursed you with his witchcraft. Seriously, Radha, it's not your fault. I'm with you. I'll find a solution."


Ravi falls in love with Radha

→ Now Ravi would visit Radha daily at the riverbank. Radha wouldn't leave without meeting him. They had fallen in love. Ravi began taking Radha for walks, sometimes in the fields, sometimes to a fair held far from the village. Radha was overjoyed to have Ravi with her. But whenever the new moon night arrived, she would move away from Ravi so that he wouldn't die. Radha had grown to love him deeply and didn't want to lose him.
Ravi also loved Radha deeply. He also wanted to break Radha's curse and marry her. The villagers constantly warned Ravi to leave Radha or he would be killed. But Ravi maintained his courage and refused to leave her. He always held Radha close to his heart, so that Radha would not lose her courage.
Ravi's hard work and Baba's solution
Ravi went to the forest sage Shambhunath to find a way to escape the curse. The sage meditated and said, "Curses are powerful, but no curse can withstand true love and devotion to Shiva." This time, on the night of the new moon, when Radha becomes a witch, you should pour Ganges water on her forehead while chanting the Mahamrityunjaya mantra.

→ But remember – don't be afraid, or everything will be ruined. And if you make a mistake, you could even die. Ravi said, "Baba, I will give my life to free Radha from this curse, just if Radha gets well." Baba said, "Don't worry, son, I am with you. I will continue my spiritual practice until Radha gets well."
Hearing Baba's words, Ravi felt a surge of courage. Ravi vowed to save Radha.



Dangerous new moon night

The village was silent, everyone confined to their homes. The sky was overcast. The wind was hissing. Ravi, alone, took Ganges water from the temple and headed for Radha's hut.

→ So as Ravi stepped inside the hut, a terrifying scream was heard – "Ravi...run away, it's too late! Because Radha has turned into a witch!" Her eyes were blood red, her hair disheveled, and her voice was filled with pain and anger.
Ravi was very frightened, but he did not run away. Even while trembling, he began to chant the mantra. “Om Tryambaka Yajamahe Sugandhi Pushtivardhanam” Ravi continued to chant this mantra repeatedly, meditating on Lord Shiva.
Hearing the chant, the witch inside Radha began to feel uneasy. Radha's witch said, "Stop, Ravi! You will be killed! Stop chanting this mantra right now." But Ravi didn't stop, and while chanting, he poured a large amount of Ganga water on Radha's forehead.

Then suddenly the entire sky lit up. Lightning struck sharply, the wind died down, and a glow spread toward Radha.

Radha is freed from the curse

Everything seemed to stop! Tears flowed heavily from Radha's eyes. Her face calmed, and she said, "Ravi, your love was true. You freed me from this hell." With that, Radha fell unconscious in Ravi's arms.
Until Radha regained consciousness, Ravi held her in his lap and began to remember Lord Shiva. After a while, Radha opened her eyes, and she was as beautiful and innocent as before.
Radha was no longer afraid. Her curse had ended. Then Radha said, "Ravi, I want a husband like you in every life. You've supported me so much without any regard for yourself. All the villagers, including my own family, were so afraid that they drove me out of the village."

I love you so much, Ravi! Don't ever leave me. Hearing this, Ravi embraced Radha and said, "Radha, I want to hold you for life."



Radha and Ravi's love story begins

The next day, the villagers witnessed a miracle. Radha was back to normal. The witch's name had been erased. Everyone gathered at the village Shiva temple.

Ravi and Radha were married in 1925. Baba Shambhunath also blessed them and said, “Where love is true, fear and curse cannot survive.”
